Aspen Cross Country Center

Aspen Cross Country Center

The Aspen Cross Country Center is the only full service cross country ski and snowshoe center in Aspen, located on the trails at the Aspen Golf Course, and conveniently at the heart of the Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System.

For 37 winters, the Ute Mountaineer has owned and operated the Aspen Cross Country Center. With more than 90 km of free trails of the Aspen Snowmass Nordic Trail System right outside the front door, the center is a convenient spot to demo gear, take a lesson or head out on a guided tour. After skiing, you can relax in our lounge with hot drinks, snacks, cross country videos and reading material. In addition to our retail shop and ski school, we offer expert ski tuning and repair services, a public waxing room and men’s & women’s locker rooms.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Aspen Cross Country Center has made a number of changes to ensure customer and staff safety.
-The number of people allowed into the Aspen Cross Country Center will be limited to increase social distancing. We have expande the space (thanks to the City of Aspen) to include the main level lobby and lower lobby for rentals. This should spread people out and allow us to help as many customers as possible.
-Because we are using the 2 lobbies. It also means that, outside of the restaurant, there is no longer a gathering place, rest area or warning area at the center. This is unfortunate but a necessity at least for this winter.
-There will most likely be a line to enter the center. We ask that you enter the center at the West entrance (closest to the tennis courts). If you are returning your rental gear. please enter the lower level entrance facing North (the same entrance you exited when taking rental gear out). If you are entering the restaurant or need to use the bathrooms, please use the South entrance facing the highway. Please note that there may be a line at the West and lower level entrances. While in line, we ask that you social distance, wear a mask and wait patiently until you are invited to enter.
-When renting equipment or purchasing product, please remember that there may be people waiting outside in the cold. Lingering inside the premises prevents them from being able to go out skiing. So please be considerate of others.
-The locker rooms, lower level bathrooms and public wax rooms will all be closed for Winter 2020-21.
-For everyone's safety, and by Colorado and Pitkin County mandate, staff and guests are required to wear masks inside the facilities at all time. A mask or face covering must cover the mouth and nose at all times.
-Our staff will be cleaning and sanitizing surfaces and touch areas throughout the day. They will also be wiping down rental skis & poles after each use, as well as spraying boots with virucide. -Hand sanitizer will be available to staff and guests - please use this generously prior to and after handling retail and rental equipment.
-3 large scale air purifiers will be operating throughout the center to change the air on an hourly basis.
-While waiting in line and while inside the store we ask that you maintain 6 feet social distance between you and our staff or other customers. Please respect their space.
-Finally, if you are sick, please do not enter the center.

We love nordic skiing and we want to stay open this winter! Please help us and yourself to stay health by following the above protocols. Thank you.
