Thursday January 8: New snow in the forecast for the next 24 hours. Yesterday we continued packing and grooming to create a base for today's anticipated snowfall and we shoveled in the lower underpass on the High School Loop 30. There is some skiing available at the Aspen Golf Course Loop 10 and Marolt Loop 40 but the best skiing is on High School Loop 30 with thin and variable conditions to be expected. All other trails are still closed for skiing. Snowpack is too thin to set classic track.  Check Nordic Pulse for grooming updates. The Nordic Center at the Aspen Golf Course has suspended ski rentals until we receive more snow and has had to make the decision to cancel this season's Nordic Extravaganza scheduled for this Sunday but they are open from 9-5 each day and we encourage you to stop by and check out the latest gear.
